Privacy Privacy

Research Privacy, which is part of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) is led by Ishwar Ramsingh, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CDPSE, CIPT, CIPM, CIPP/E, CHC, CHRC, AIGP, Executive Director, Research Privacy. He has a dual role, Privacy Lead for OVPRS/Research and overseeing the Data Broker Services team.

 Privacy is a resource for the research community, providing guidance and education on study-related questions. This includes consents/authorization, study design, device use and related issues that could have privacy and related data security concerns for research data. Research Privacy works closely with UHealth/UM Information Technology, Human Subjects Research Office and related areas of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPRS).

Any potential privacy incidents related to research studies are routed to and analyzed by Privacy to determine whether incidents are reportable and to ensure proper mitigation and remediation. This may include discussions with UHealth Compliance/Privacy Office and the Office of General Counsel.
