Advisory Committees

The University of Miami's research enterprise is guided by a constellation of advisory bodies that ensure strategic alignment, operational excellence, and faculty engagement across schools and colleges. These include the Research Deans, the Research Advisory Committee, and the Research Council, each playing a distinct but interconnected role.

Research Advisory Committee

Committee members are made up of research administrators and researchers. Together, these stakeholders give input on proposed Grant Lifecycle initiatives, including the definition of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), process improvements and standardization, and communication.

Research Council

The objectives of the Research Council are defined within the Faculty Manual. This group meets quarterly and is instrumental in gathering feedback on operational pain points, validating process improvements, recommending policy, supporting strategic planning, advising on internal funding allocations, and enhancing communication between faculty and administration.
