 The Office of the Vice Provost of Research & Scholarship 

Together, we make research happen. 

The Office of the Vice-Provost for Research & Scholarship (OVPRS) leads and enables the research enterprise at the University of Miami.  

  • OVPRS advances research, scholarship and creative works by driving university-wide strategy, optimizing processes and research technology, providing dashboards and analysis, and stewarding regulatory compliance (research security, audits, policies, risk, and quality).  
  • OVPRS provides end-to-end research administration, including pre-award proposal development and submission, award setup and administration, contracting, accounting and cost analysis, invoicing/collections, audit and compliance, effort reporting, and research privacy.  
  • OVPRS includes the Division of Veterinary Resources (DVR), which delivers research-animal sourcing, housing and daily care, health management, and study support.  
  • OVPRS supports faculty by connecting people to resources and funding, offering internal awards, providing NSF and NIH grant writing support, and driving research mentoring efforts. 

Together with our faculty, staff, and partners, OVPRS strengthens the University of Miami’s role as a hub for groundbreaking research and scholarship.
