The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) is dedicated to assessing, protecting, and commercializing UM owned Innovations through licensing to startups and established companies. The OTT works with the U Innovation team to translate knowledge and commercialize new research and innovations that benefit communities locally, nationally, and globally.
Services
- Review Innovation Disclosure Forms and assess commercial potential to identify suitable protection strategies for each innovation.
- Work with Applicable Personnel and internal stakeholders to identify and engage potential commercial partners for the commercialization of Innovations.
- Negotiate and execute agreements for the development and commercialization of Innovations, including:
- Exclusive and/or Non-exclusive licenses
- Assignments
- Outbound Material Transfer Agreements (MTA)
- Outbound and/or Mutual Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDA)
- Outbound Data Use Agreements (DUA)
