Human Subjects Research Office (HSRO)

The Human Subjects Research Office (HSRO) provides administrative and regulatory support to UM’s Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). 

If you are a participant in any research being conducted by UM, and if you have any questions about your rights as a participant, call the Human Subjects Research Office at 305-243-3195 or send an email to hsro@miami.edu. 

Meet The Team

  • Maintaining IRB records on all human research at UM and JHS
  • Maintaining a database for tracking all human research submissions at UM and JHS
  • Serving as a resource on general regulatory information
  • Conducting educational workshops
  • Publishing UM’s Standard Operating Procedures for human research
    • Support for Institutional Review Boards
    • Support comprehensive stakeholder accreditation activities through educational and networking platforms.
  • Provide support and maintain records for Trial Registration and Result Reporting on clinicaltrials.gov
