Budget Allocation

Initial Budget Setup

  • ORA, Post Award completes the budget setup based on the sponsor’s award document or the approved proposal budget, distributes funds into appropriate object classes, and, at its discretion, may request additional clarifications from the department on how to rebudget large funding cuts.
  • Budget periods and amounts follow sponsor terms:
    • Incremental releases for multiyear awards
    • Full budget release for clinical trials based on contracted amount 

Rebudgeting

  • PI/delegate works must submit rebudgetting requests via an Award Modification Request (AMR) in IBISResearch.
  • ORA, Post-Award reviews for sponsor compliance, approves (or routes to sponsor), and updates Workday upon approval.
