Leadership
Conflict of Interest
The Conflict of Interest (COI) unit, administered by the Disclosures & Scholarly Activities Management (DSAM) team within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship, promotes transparency, objectivity, and integrity in research by overseeing disclosures, reviews, and management of personal and institutional conflicts of interest related to scholarly activities. DSAM staff partner with faculty, investigators, study teams, and administrators to provide guidance, conduct reviews, support compliance with sponsor and regulatory requirements, and help researchers navigate potential conflicts while advancing their academic and research missions.
Research Security & International Engagement
The Research Security and International Engagement (RSIE) team helps safeguard the University of Miami’s research enterprise by supporting compliance with federal research security requirements, promoting transparency in international collaborations, and coordinating institutional risk management activities related to research. The RSIE team partners with faculty, investigators, and administrative units to provide guidance, training, due diligence reviews, and support for research security, foreign engagement disclosures, international activities, and secure research environments.
