Policy Implementation & Guidance DSAM supports the implementation of the university’s policy on:

  • Conflict of Interest
  • Conflict of Commitment
  • Foreign Influence
  • Institutional & Organizational Conflict of Interest

This policy applies to all university officials, faculty, investigators, and staff, and is designed to protect the integrity of UM’s scholarly activities.

Administrative Support for the UDisclose System We provide full-spectrum administrative support for the University of Miami’s UDisclose System, a web-based platform used to collect, review, and manage disclosures of financial and obligatory interests, including foreign and domestic activities. This support includes:

  • Help & Customer Service: We manage the UDisclose System Help Line and shared mailbox, offering direct assistance to investigators navigating disclosure requirements and system functionality.
  • System Oversight & Troubleshooting: Our team maintains administrative-level access to UDisclose and coordinates with related systems (e.g., CITI, InfoEd, OnBase, IRB/eProst) to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
  • Booking & Consultation Services: Investigators can schedule 1:1 consultations with our staff for personalized guidance on submitting disclosures, understanding COI determinations, and navigating the system. [DSAM Bookings Page]

Disclosure Review & Management: DSAM oversees the UDisclose System, a university-wide platform that enables disclosure of foreign and domestic affiliations, financial interests, and scholarly activities; submission of Disclosure Profiles by faculty, staff, and other covered persons; and annual updates and 30-day reporting for new or changed interests. We support the COI Committee by facilitating project-specific and interest-specific reviews, coordinating COI management plans, and conducting retrospective reviews when necessary.

Training & Compliance Support: DSAM ensures that all covered individuals complete annual training on conflicts of interest (COI) and foreign influence and understand what to disclose and how to use the UDisclose system effectively. We deliver monthly seminars and targeted training sessions on conflict of interest (COI) policies, foreign influence, and disclosure procedures. These sessions are designed to help investigators meet annual training requirements and stay compliant with evolving regulations.

Regular UDisclose System webinars are hosted to guide users through updates, best practices, and system enhancements. These sessions also serve as a forum for Q&A and community engagement. Schedule through ULearn, keyword search “UDisclose”.
