How to Complete the Research Security Training Module

Research security training is a critical component in safeguarding our institution's intellectual property, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the integrity of our research endeavors.

By administering this training through the UDisclose System, we aim to streamline the process, reducing the administrative burden on our faculty, researchers, staff and sudents. This centralized approach not only fosters a more efficient and user-friendly experience but also ensures that UM’s Covered Persons are adequately informed and equipped to address security concerns. Ultimately, this initiative supports our commitment to excellence and innovation in research by protecting our valuable resources and intellectual contributions. 

Please follow the steps below through your Disclosure Profile in the UDisclose System:

Complete the Research Security Training (RST) course. UM requires all Covered Persons to complete training on Foreign Influence.

  1. If you previously completed the PDF version of the RST that was available on your disclosure profile page between 12/31/24 and 10/24/25, you may confirm your completion by locating your name on the RST completion list in DiscloserComplianceStatus - Power BI
  2. If you have not yet completed the RST, please follow the steps on the Instructions and Policies page in your Disclosure Profile in the UDisclose System.
  3. You must certify your training in UDisclose on an annual basis in order to remain in compliance.
